Database Administrator

The Database Administrator is responsible for maintaining a stable, performant, and highly available database environment.


We would expect from you to:

  • Contribute to the overall strategy for the SQL Server estate supporting internal applications.
  • Advise development teams on appropriate database server deployment and configuration.
  • Implement new deployments according to established industry and company standards.
  • Formulate and execute remediation plans where existing deployments fall short of industry and company standards.
  • Implement maintenance plans and monitoring to ensure Database/Server instances are running optimally and making best use of computing resources.
  • Monitor Database/Server alerts and respond to issues and errors.
  • Document Database/Server deployments.
  • Test patches to ensure compatibility with the database environment and participate in regular patching cycle.
  • Support service delivery and development teams by refreshing non-production database environments.
  • Assist in troubleshooting efforts when data integrity or database performance is suspected is a possible cause of service issues.
  • Work with the reporting team to establish and maintain a data warehouse solution in support of a common reporting platform.


Our ideal match has:

  • 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Oracle Database, DB2 Database or SQL Server database administration.
  • One or more DBA certifications strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize competing priorities and meet parallel deadlines.
  • Exceptionally strong organizational and collaboration skills.



  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Intellectual Property concepts is a plus.
  • A broad technical understanding of a wide range of platforms and technologies.
